The creation of thinking machine which would be indistinguishable from a man has always been the Holy Grail of robotics pioneers. Our minds, willing to find a human being in every living creature, give them a hand. The fundamental psychological mechanism responsible for this inclination is called anthropomorphism. In the preliminary section I will roughly describe what anthropomorphism is. Then I will go into effects that the advancement in humanlike robots production us expected to have at the social and psychological levels. I will discuss the following issues linked with anthropomorphic bias: (a) the change of risk perception in human-machine interaction, (b) the development of emotional bond between a human and a machine and (c) the threat of desensitization and dehumanization. Based on the overview of those consequences I will point key legal regulation which must be introduced in order to protect the basic values of our legal community - dignity, equality and freedom of its members.
